Quickly Switching to a Future Date on Your iPad or iPhone Calendar

Do you ever need to add an appointment to the calendar on your iPhone or iPad that’s way in the future? Unlike iCal on the Mac, there isn’t an equivalent “Go To” option to quickly switch to a date in the future (or past) on the iPad or iPhone Calendar. There is, however, a quick way to zoom ahead or back.

iPhone

Press and hold one of the arrow keys. The calendar will quickly begin skipping forward or backward. This works in both the day and month view.

The process is different for the iPad.

To move ahead or back slowly, press and hold either the first or last date at the bottom of the calendar. You’ll move in increments of days, weeks or years depending on which viewing mode you’re in.

If you want to move ahead or back quickly, press and hold either the first or last date at the bottom of the calendar, then begin dragging your finger towards the left or right arrow. The farther you drag your finger, the faster the dates will move. You’ll move in increments of days, weeks or years depending on which viewing mode you’re in.
